Prior to being a real estate professional, Jack had a spectacular career in the music business. He received both his Bachelor and Master degrees in Music from University of Michigan. He is a Fulbright Scholar and holds a language diploma from the Sorbonne, University of Paris, FRANCE. In 1971, he was the winner of the International Competition for Musical Performers - Geneva, Switzerland, which distinguished him as one of the world’s foremost classical saxophonists. As a woodwind specialist playing the saxophones, flute, piccolo, and clarinets, he traveled the world’s major concert halls as the principal woodwind with the Philip Glass Ensemble from 1979 to 1991 while concurrently becoming a founding member of the American Saxophone Quartet and teaching at the Manhattan School of Music. As an entrepreneur, Jack owned a THE PARADIGM - a gourmet natural foods restaurant with 36 employees which included a bakery, catering division and several fast food outlets located in the Detroit area around Birmingham, Michigan. Jack first came to Bermuda in 1976 for a year, fell in love with Bermuda and returned permanently in 1991 as a faculty member at the Dunbarton School of Music now known as the Bermuda School of Music. He lives happily with his Bermudian wife, Adriana. He has two stepsons Kevin and Steven, a dog (Sparky), and a cat (Loafer). He enjoys boating, tennis, running, reading, music and travel and collecting art. |
